My favourite childhood Christmas memory was not the presents (although they were always fab), nor the being with my family (fabber still) but a single track on a record that I don’t ever remember being given: it was always there. Disney’s Christmas Favourites, I think it’s called, and every year I have a sly listen. Yes, I know you might think I should grow up but I say this in response: No. The inner child needs nurturing otherwise it’s all too easy to be all boring and dull and stuffy. One can only have fun and be happy if one’s inner child is healthy, doncherknow.
The track in question can be heard here, briefly. I’ll take it down again soon so I suggest you have a listen, enjoy the feeling of being small and forget your worries for a bit. Go on, let go of being a growed-up for a while.
Oh and, in case you didn’t know, Clement Clarke Moore didn’t write this, it was Major Henry Livingstone Jr. So ner. :p
By the way, if you want to ensure a visit from Santa this year, this may come in handy (needs adobe acrobat, download it here if you need to).
It remains for me to simply say this: have a very smashing Christmas, and be good to those you love.
