I love Freecycle. I’ve managed to bagsy some very odd things on there, and also managed to dispose of some no-longer-required items too.
The recent haul has included such delights as an electric strimmer, that wonderful organ (which I suspect no visitor will want to sit at now) and this marvellous beauty:

Muchly frowned upon by SWMBO at first, I obtained it because I thought it would be kinda cool. I mean, every study should have an Alien Head, surely? I also considered that it may be some sort of collectors item. Turns out it is just that! There are examples for sale on eBay for up to £100, albeit those include the full quadrilogy box-set which I currently don’t have.
Only a matter of time, though - tomorrow I am due to collect a proper piano stool to go with my marvellous new organ; these things just happen to work out. Serendipity-doo-dah and things of that nature, generally. One shold never expect, though, one should just let it happen and be pleased if it works and not disappointed if it doesn’t.

I’ve no intention of selling it, by the way, it’s just nice to know it’s worth something (to the right buyer). The cats hate it too so that’s a bonus :)

Not An Arse In Sight
Mar 22nd, 2010 by Omally

…promise. Although I was quite pleased at the number of Gotchas involved. It’s a wonderful thing to be inspired by Monty Python y’know.

Anyway, talking of arses, wasn’t Jean Michel Jarre good? I think so anyway, although the dodgy videos to some of his tracks were a tad Pantene-Pro-V-Because-He’s-Worth-It-Hair-Flicking-Froggy-Poser *ahem* but here’s a video without all the visual nonsense to clutter up the purely audio delights of good old JMJ… Crank up your noise-producers and set your ears to 11 (because it’s, like, one more) and give this a ruddy good listening to.

Organ-ised.
Mar 20th, 2010 by Omally

Hoorah! I collected the previously-mentioned electric organ this morning, from a really nice bloke who earns his crust touring festivals as a stand-up comedian. Amazing the people you meet, innit?

Anyway, here’s T having a tinkle on the mock-ivories…

As I keep getting my picture formats too big for some readers, please clicky for biggy.

So that’s 4 guitars, one Ukelelelelele, one Clarinet, one Saxomastraw, two bongo drums and now one mighty organ. No, I can’t really play any of them but that will never stop me trying!
