Now, I understand that one of the ’side effects’ of getting married as a female is the joy of the endless list of things that need my name changing on.

Done most now, you know, driving license sent off, bank cards are through etc etc.

Today I received an email from my credit card company. Now, bare in mind that this name change is the ONLY thing I have requested to change, I wrote a letter, complete with a photocopy of the marriage certificate, confirming this. So what does the email say?

Dear Miss T Keighghghghghghery,

Your ’stupid credit card company’ online profile has been updated.

Customer Accounts Manager

Now can you spot the deliberate mistake? They advise that my profile has been updated, so they write to me as my former name to advise me that my name has been updated? So has it been updated or not? Surely if it had, they would confirm using my new name? Or am I simply going mad?
