I cannot believe that this time last year I wanted to get a particular gift for Mally. I knew what he really wanted, a nintendo ds lite, but they were out of stock on Amazon for some time so I couldnt get one for him.

Well, I fancy having this too. And following a bit of work I did and earned cash for, and after much insisting from Mally that the money should not go into the savings and should be spent on something nice, I thought well why not. We could share it as long as I dont get a pink one.

So onto Amazon I go. Searching for a ds. Not worried about colour really. All going goood soo far yeah?

But then I noticed something.

When I was looking at the same time last year, on the same website, ds lite consoles with a game were £107.00. Now I know its quite a bit but I really wanted to get one for Mally and I knew he would like it. The £107 included a game as well. All out of stock so had to opt for something else instead. Well this year I search and the price? £180.00 for the same console with the same game?! How on earth does a console go up in price to such an extreme that in effect is out of date this year? Oh, I can get a lime green coloured one for £99 but no game.

Think I will be waiting until after xmas then
